Day 51 - Pentwater

We were itching to move on, but the weather radar showed a line a thunderstorms from Chicago to Lake Michigan's east shore almost as far north as Pentwater. We slept in while the wind calmed, then decided to see what's in Pentwater for a change of pace. That gets us a little further south and gives us new scenery. The ride was a bit bumpy. There were apparently some swells left from the lake's raucous behavior yesterday. But Osprey (and the captain!) handled it well.

This town, like Ludington, is swarming with fishermen. That's a bad thing if you're downwind of the fish cleaning hut. That's a good thing if Jim in the boat next to you is an avid fisherman who has more fresh salmon than he knows what to do with. That happened yesterday and we ended up with at least 9 meals in our freezer. We are so glad we bought the extra freezer for the engine room!

Now it's a gray and rainy afternoon. We're lazing and reading. We really wish we'd get hit with a storm. We love watching lightning and getting rocked and hearing the thunder when we're safely in a harbor.
