Fog greeted us this morning, so we took our time making coffee, walking Riley, and doing our other morning chores before getting underway. It lifted quickly, and Osprey glided smoothly across the glassy-smooth Straits of Mackinac to De Tour Village Harbor at the mouth of the St. Marys River.
On our walk along the breakwater Riley hustled eagerly as though he thought something exciting must be at the end. I think he was disappointed to find only seagulls and their “exhaust” Bob and I took a short bike ride into the Village to visit the small museum and to buy a potato for our dinner of fish chowder made from the remains of the fresh-caught trout we purchased Friday.
