Days 66 - 72* Home

* The number of days of our voyage have been adjusted. I discovered that I added a day to the count between July and August.

We've been incommunicado for awhile because Bob made a very sensible suggestion. "Instead of waiting in the marina for word about the barrier in the Illinois River, why don't we rent a car and go home?"
It took me some time to decide - about half a second!
The next day we packed a few necessities and Riley into a rented car and headed off.
We didn't tell anyone we were coming and were gleefully entertained by the surprise on peoples' faces when they saw us, but "knew" we were on a boat on Lake Michigan.
